"Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death."
---Rosalind Russell ~AUNTIE MAME~

That dancing fool Keanu Reeves plays a serial killer that has followed a burned out FBI agent (James Spader) from LA to Chicago so he can continue to toy with him. The killer changes the rules of his game slightly, he will send the agent a picture of his next victim and the agent will have 24 hours to find the victim before the murder takes place. After 2 failures to find the victim in time, the next one will be the agent's shrink (Marisa Tomei).

This is drivel filled with cliches and cardboard cutouts as a supporting cast. Tomei is also mannequin-like. But the performances of Spader and Reeves kept me interested as the nearly symbiotic relationship between the two is explored. The agent who suffers from migraines as well as drug dependencies seems to be incomplete without the serial killer. The killer feels empty after the agent leaves LA.

I give it a B.

Rated R for extreme violence and language.

"Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."
