Good enough for Vegas - Group Rhythmic Gymnastics would fit in just fine in one of the glitzy review shows
Favorite horse name - Gigolo
Jimminy Cricket - Don Nelson jr, the American Assistant Coach for Lithuania/Dallas Mavericks said he'll no longer coach against the United States. He said he had trouble sleeping after his team nearly pulled the upset of the century against his home Country.
Aussie lingo - tinny = beer, grod = beer, cobber = friend
Lisa, Lisa, Lisa - My favorite basketball player, Lisa Leslie became the all-time leading American Olympian scorer, surpassing David Robinson yesterday.
Channel surfing - TLC -Extreme Machines - They showed the roller coaster that you ride lying down. I didn't see which park it is at. I love thrill rides and coasters.
Russian 101 - bagateer = gladiator = Dmitri Sautin
Southern belle? - I swear I hear a southern accent from NBC's Cynthia Potter (Diving) sometimes. Sometimes she sounds like a Yankee.
Oh lighten up - Some people including American Track personnel complained about the excess celebration by the American mens 4 x 100 relay team. True, they were engaging in posing and caricaturing WWF's "The Rock" but it was good-natured and they were not taunting or rubbing people's noses in it a la Terrell Evans (SF 49ers). The most they were guilty of was child-like buffoonery and maybe treating the American flag a little roughly. Maurice Greene apologized later to those that were offended.
Queen Marion limping? - Not really, she had just taken off her shoes after her final event and maybe has a few blisters or tender spots after everything she's done in the last few days.
Costas quip - If the French team defeats the Americans here , it will be the biggest thing to happen to France since the last Jerry Lewis Film Festival.
Best cackle since Walter Brennan or Phyllis Diller - Bill Russell as they profiled his 1956 Olympic experience in Melbourne
