Phelps' and Thorpe's freestyle strokes are so smooth that they seem to take less reps than other swimmers but that is only an optical illusion. I compared side to side and they were taking just as many strokes as the others. They are just so efficient,that there is not as much splashing going on.

We have a very sexy local commercial running for Del Mar Race Track. No horses, just models on a runway. It uses the theme, "Some things never go out of style".
The prime time show closed with the Olympia preview for tomorrow. The shot put was not contested in the ancient games. Originally the organizers of these games wanted to contest the discus at Olympia, but todays mighty athletes would throw the discs right out of the stadium.
The athletes at Olympia will not compete in the nude this time, thank goodness. (Shot putters in the nude?)

Indoor volleyball teams have different colored jerseys on the same teams...I am guessing to differntiate hitters/blockers from setters and servers.
Mary Carillo gem - "Bossanova is a gelding so he is no Casanova"...his picture is not on his passport...horses must have passports to travel to international events...not considered athletes, but as equipment.
